Celebrating the success of the Region of Learning project

Reflecting on a phenomenal journey: Celebrating the success of the Region of Learning project in the greater Cambridgeshire and Peterborough regions.

As this phase of the Region of Learning project comes to an end, Form the Future, in partnership with, the European Union – European Social Fund, Greater Cambridge Partnership, and the Cambridge City Council are delighted with the impact this project has had in our region.

The Region of Learning supports and assists young people to connect to local learning, wellbeing and career motivated opportunities, and build upon their own confidence, skills development and aspiration for future life goals. Since the start of the project, more than 862 participants have benefited through one-to-one career guidance, group activities, work experience and mentoring. It is also thanks to the project that achievements can be recognised via digital badges.

“The ESF funded Region of Learning project has enabled us to provide support to young adults across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to engage with further education or to find their route into employment. We know from their feedback how much support like ours builds confidence and the ability to navigate their next steps. Without this project, these young people might have missed out on careers guidance and employment support, at a critical point in their career journey.”
Anne Bailey, CEO, Form the Future

Through the project we have supported countless young people to unlock their potential, bridging gaps and helping make learning accessible to all.

“We value the opportunity in collaborating with Form the Future on the delivery of essential and employability skills through Region of Learning. Region of Learning has removed barriers to further learning that many young people aged 15 – 24 may have previously faced. The Region of Learning project is the corner stone of the wider Region of Learning eco-system, offering tailored and achievable milestones to learner progression, and raised aspiration.”
Lucy Laing, Project Manager, Region of Learning, Cambridge City Council

Our success is rooted in collaboration. Together with our partners, educators, volunteers, and other enthusiasts, we have cultivated a vibrant community passionate about lifelong learning.

But it’s not just about what we’ve achieved; it’s about the lasting impact. We have fostered a culture of curiosity and growth, equipping individuals with the tools to navigate an ever-evolving world.

As we turn the page to the next chapter, let’s continue to embrace the spirit of learning, exploration and community. The future holds infinite opportunities, and together, we will continue to reach new heights. We look forward to working with you on the digital badge expansion in 2024!

To everyone who joined us on this incredible journey: THANK YOU!
