Last academic year, Form the Future delivered two Employability Workshops to 55 enthusiastic Year 10 students at Trumpington Community College. The recently refreshed workshop helps students to identify their skills, covers CV writing, interview skills, job searching, self-employment/entrepreneurship and preparing for work. One student said, “The session was very interactive, and it helped me recognise my skills and abilities”.
Shift Momentum joined us and ran the module regarding self-employment and entrepreneurship, where the students did an elevator pitch of their group idea. The groups came up with great ideas concerning fashion, medicine, and the environment. One student said, “I enjoyed the creating the business activity”.
The workshop guides students to the modern job market and workplace. It was recently refreshed thanks to the Region of Learning, and we look forward to delivering to more Region of Learning Schools across the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough region this academic year!
The Region of Learning supports and assists young people to connect to local learning, wellbeing and career-motivated opportunities, and build upon their own confidence, skills development and aspiration for future life goals.
