Form the Future CIC are delighted to welcome Tariq Sadiq to the team as our first Fundraising & Development Manager. He is passionate about supporting young people and giving them the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
“Form the Future seemed like the perfect fit since they understand that we need to work directly with school children to encourage them to find pathways into careers and prepare for their futures. Plus I think it’s really interesting to work for innovative and exciting businesses.”
This new role will be a continuation to his commitment to education and working with organisations to achieve their mission, having previously been Deputy Director of Development and Head of Fundraising for the University of Hull as well as a school governor.
For 4 years, he was County Councillor and Labour Group Leader for Coleridge and therefore is familiar with the local community and some of the issues that schools and young people face.
Despite having worked for a prominent university for many years, he understands that this may not be a suitable pathway for all students. He explained that,
“It is important for young people to realise that there are different ways in which they can excel and university is just one option. Businesses can’t meet all of their recruitment needs just from graduates – apprenticeships or going straight into work are viable alternatives, particularly to learn technical skills and expertise.”
Form the Future are excited for this next chapter as we ensure that every young people can move from education into a successful career, no matter their background. With activities like the mentoring programme and careers advice service, we are able to work directly with disadvantaged students and equip them with the skills they’ll need to succeed.
