Form the Future achieve matrix Standard accreditation

We are thrilled to announce that we have been accredited to the matrix Standard, demonstrating the high-quality careers information, advice and guidance services that we offer to young people in the region.

What is the matrix Standard?

The matrix Standard, put in place by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, is a framework to assess an organisation’s information, advice and guidance services.

It is the international quality standard which recognises organisations who provide excellent information, advice and guidance services to their client base.

It also provides Form the Future (FtF) with the chance to benchmark the services we provide for young people in the region against best practice, ensuring that we can continually work to improve our provision.

How did we achieve it?

Over the course of two days in January, the FtF team hosted our matrix Standard assessor, who conducted a thorough review; spending time with team members individually to discuss their roles and the delivery of our service, reviewing our processes and speaking to some of our external partners about their experience of working with FtF.

The assessor also joined us to experience one of our Careers Carousels, observing how we run our events and the impact that they have on the young people we work with.

The feedback received from students during this event was incredibly positive, with one student remarking: “Today has been so cool. I am thinking about apprenticeships, and my mock interview with the employer was really tough… but in a good way. I am feeling much more confident about UCAS and job interviews.”

Further highlights from the matrix assessor included:

  • Visionary leadership and direction were frequently cited by staff and partners as the ‘backbone’ to this high quality IAG provider
  • High quality service delivery approaches are reaching out and having an impact on young people. Whether it be the careers workshops, managed and coordinated by the Events team, or the one to one career guidance, practice is based upon sound careers advice models.
  • The full range of staff deliver an IAG service that is steeped in professional values of integrity, objectivity and impartiality. The staff continually demonstrate corporate values of optimism, authenticity, support, passion, and innovation to careers advice and employability support delivery
  • Core to the realisation of the FtF vision is especially effective partnerships. Throughout the assessment discussions with FtF staff, employers and schools highlighted that effective industry and education liaison is continually nurtured.

Roger Chapman, Head of the matrix Service for The Growth Company, said:

“This is a fantastic achievement for Form the Future and I would like to congratulate the team on their success. We believe that at the heart of high-quality advice and support services are strong leadership, excellent service and a focus on continuous improvement, all underpinned by effective use of the resources available.

“The matrix Standard is designed to benchmark organisations against best practice in these areas. With their accreditation success, Form the Future is working to provide the best possible support to their clients.”

The FtF team look forward to continuing to provide an exemplary service, connecting young people to a world of career possibilities, inspiring them to dream big and empowering them to fulfil their full potential.
