APPRENTICESHIP TALK AT NORTH CAMBRIDGE ACADEMY (NCA)

Wednesday, 9th Feb 2022 from 08:45 to 10:45
74-96 Arbury Road, Cambridge, CB4 4JF
APPRENTICESHIPS EVENTS

250 Students from Year 8 (secondary), Year 10 (secondary)

Event Description

PLEASE NOTE TIMINGS ON THE DAY ARE TBC

These events help students learn how apprenticeships work. The role of the volunteer is to explain how apprenticeships can offer an alternative to full-time education that students can choose after GCSEs or A-levels. We particularly welcome current and former apprentices who can talk through their own experience.

This event works best when led by a member of HR, Recruitment of Early Careers staff, supported by a current apprentice. The lead staff member provides an overview of what apprenticeships are and what young people need to know about them (we have a template presentation that you can follow); the apprentice then shares some of their own experience and answers questions from the students.

If you have any further questions about volunteering for this event, please contact our Relationships Manager, David Brockway: dbrockway@formthefuture.org.uk

If this is your first event with us, please create a profile on our portal, it should only take a couple of minutes to sign up- https://www.formthefuture.org.uk/register/ (Info video how to sign up).

Our goal is that all young people move successfully from education into employment. As a social enterprise, we are reliant on grants and corporate funding in order to work with the schools across Cambridgeshire. Even the smallest donation helps us to provide careers inspiration for every child. Click below to find out more about what your donation could do for young people in your community.
