WHAT WE DO
We empower young people to explore their skills and interests, understand their future employment options, and make informed career decisions that are right for them
Many young people leave school without adequate careers education, unsure of what they want to do and how to enter the world of work. With volunteers from business, we help equip students with skills of the future and develop employability skills, careers awareness, motivation and ambition.

BUILDING A TALENT PIPELINE FOR YOUR ORGANISATION
We want to equip young people with the experience and skills they will need to succeed in their career of choice, and enable businesses to recruit skilled workers locally. We bridge the gap between these two worlds and help them work together and achieve more.
In a fast-growing region like Cambridge, where employers can’t hire fast enough, it’s essential young people know where the jobs will be and which skills will be in demand. We support businesses with educational outreach to future-proof and build their talent pipeline.

PREPARING YOUNG PEOPLE FOR LIFE AFTER SCHOOL
Since the end of a funded careers service, schools have to source their own independent careers education and guidance for their students. We support schools to meet Department for Education requirements, following the Gatsby benchmarks.
We offer a range of events, programmes and services that open up a world of career possibilities for young people, and provide them with the necessary skills to succeed. These are tailored to suit different ages and stages of development and can be customised to meet the needs of each school.
APPRENTICESHIPS
Apprenticeships are a great way to move from education into work, allowing young people to gain hands-on experience whilst earning a salary. They also allow employers to recruit and train new talent with the necessary skills to succeed in their business and industry, which is particularly beneficial in sectors experiencing skills shortages.
It’s not just young people that can benefit from taking on an Apprenticeship – anyone, of any age can do one, and more and more industries are offering Apprenticeships of all levels.
Through Greater Cambridge Apprenticeships, in partnership with the GCP and CRC, we aim to generate 420 new apprenticeships, both by supporting more businesses to create new apprenticeships and by supporting students who want to secure one.
We’re also an integral part of the Target Apprenticeships programme, both coordinating and delivering this programme with funding from the European Social Fund (ESF).
